What I found in my reader this week...

How has your week been? Mine has been crazy. Halloween just passed and my head is already spinning. I can't believe that it is Novemeber and we are officially into the holiday season. All I can think about is what the heck I am going to get everyone for Christmas and what I really want to be spending all 5 minutes of free time doing is crafting! I miss crafting! 

 

Okay, my dream to-do list just got a lot longer. I say "dream" because with our needy newborn these days, I can barely shower everyday, let alone find time for fun crafts. I found lots of cute things in my Google Reader this week. Granted, I am playing a little bit of catch-up from the last few weeks so some of it is a little more than a week old, but cute none-the-less. Check this stuff out:

 Um, is this not precious? Take your old tshirts and make an adorable dress for your little girl with this tutorial. Check out the upcycled tshirt dress tutorial by I am Momma Hear me Roar here.

 Look at this pillow! It is so pretty and funky at the same time. You could totally do it in a variety of fabrics to make it fit any decor. Check out the tutorial by JCasa Handmade on the Sew Mama Sew blog here.

Okay, this idea is wonderful and so timely. I have been looking at camera bags lately and just cannot get over the prices. I will be following this tutorial at some point because it just makes sense! Get the camera bag insert tutorial by Lil Blue Boo here.

If I can ever find the time...

Finding time to work and sew with a newborn has been much harder than I anticipated. Much harder. To prove it, I have these two patterns written. They have been written, photgraphed and modeled. All I need to do is type them up and send them to testing and then they will be ready for the shop. I am really hoping to have them ready in the next month because I hate having these projects partially finished. Plus they are just too cute not to be listed in my shop!

 

This one is an elbow length ruffle sleeve twist on a peasant dress. I plan to layer it over jeans and leggings once the weather cools off (keep in mind my daughter was modeling this in August)

This one is actually a pattern written for knit fabrics. It looks fancy but is actually quite easy and would be perfect for beginners or those who have never tried knits.

Daydreaming: Gorgeous spaces

Craft Room Inspiration

If you are aware of the changes that the Noodles & Milk family is going through, you can imagine that our home is changing too. This weekend is the big switcharoo. My spacious and quiet sewing room is becoming a nursery.

Sewing supplies have been re-organized and downsized and are being re-located to a much smaller common area in our home. Since this space will not have a door on it that I can just shut and hide away the clutter, I have been looking into pretty craft spaces for inspiration. Many of these spaces are out of our price range to follow exactly, but they offer wonderful ides and something to dream about for the future.

I love the turquoise table here. It brings such a fun splash of color.

This is Heather Bailey's sewing room. There are no words for its beauty. The antiques are a wonderful touch.

I love seeing everything placed neatly where they belong.

Love the shelving and the colors.

Love the lime and red and a great use of a small space.

Pottery Barn. Enough said.

Love the pink table and the shelving.

Container Store. Again, enough said. Oh, and this is a closet. Yeah, awesome.

This space is just so clean looking. Love the pop of color from the stripe rug.
