Featured Shop: Sew Sweet Stitches

This weeks featured shop is Sew Sweet Stitches. This shop is so charming and precious that I can barely stand it. Melissa, the owner, is also a really special gem of a person. Here is what Melissa has to say about herself:

"Ever since my mom bought my antique sewing machine at a yard sale when I was about eight years old, I've dreamed of making crafting my full-time job. I even pretended my bedroom was my retail shop and forced my family to "buy" my creations with Monopoly money!

As I grew up, I took random jobs but never had any other career in mind than being the next Martha Stewart. Now that I'm married and have a three-year-old daughter, my goals have been downsized but satisfactory realized with the discovery of Etsy.

I've dabbled in just about every craft out there, but really got hooked on embroidery a few years ago. I'm fascinated with the unique style and unending potential of fiber jewelry. Embroidering on wool also opens up an endless variety of projects like gadget cozies, purses, and hair accessories. I could never be bored. In fact, my biggest challenge is controlling my creative urges- I never want to make the same thing twice! Add in the best benefit, staying home with my little girl, and I can't imagine my life any other way!"

Gorgeous earrings

Iphone cozy

Charming headband

Funky lemon-lime bracelet

Melissa, from Sew Sweet Stitches, also has a super blog on which she shares tons of fun crafty information. She generously agreed to let us share a tutorial. One look at this and you will certainly want to make one for your little one.

Ruffle Headband Tutorial

Materials:
woven fabric
sewing machine and thread
button or beads
hair clip or headband

You can view the rest of the tutorial here.

Because she is so sweet, Melissa sent me a set of flower clips to review. Can I just tell you that I was BLOWN AWAY?! From the moment I received her package I was in awe. I knew she was creative, but seriously, look at her packaging!

The outer package is glitter scrapbook paper that has been sewn together into an envelope. So cute!

Inside the outer package is another scrappy envelope that has been stitched together from glitter paper along with a personalized note. I love it!

The contents inside are even cuter than the packaging.

My daughter is super girly and was instantly in love with the new clippies.

On top of getting to share this precious shop with you and share a super cute tutorial, Melissa wants to give away something to you! Sew Sweet Stitches is giving away a set of 3 flower clippies in your choice of colors!

There are two opportunities to enter (use separate comments please):
Giveaway ends 8/25 at midnight.

Enjoy!

PS: Sew Sweet Stitches is offering a giveaway of a Noodles & Milk pattern here. Check it out:)

Oh my goodness, those are gorgeous! I usually don't like felt stuff because it looks so plain or half-finished. These are so beautiful....I'm still in shock that they're felt.

I keep going through the pages of the store & I'd seriously take all of them. I think the first thing I'll get is the Heart Blossom Hair Clip to have for newborn pictures of my daughter (due 10/2/10). Thanks for the chance to win!!
